Air France will sell Gol tickets
Low-cost Brazilian airline Gol has closed an inter-line deal with Air France, it was announced this week.
The deal will allow passengers travelling with Air France to purchase tickets to any of Gol’s 58 destinations in South America through the French airline.
Air France will also be able to sell Gol tickets onboard flights, offering passengers the facility to have their luggage checked in through to their final destination.
It is thought the deal will be another boost to Brazil’s growing tourist industry, encouraging French tourists to travel around the country and Latin America.
The partnership between the two airlines follows news this week that another Brazilian airline, VRG, has launched a flight route between Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and London.
VRG described the new flight link to the UK as "an important step in VRG’s expanding network".
According to the Brazilian tourism board, Embratur, European tourist travel to the country has increased dramatically over recent years with England ranking ninth amongst the top ten countries providing tourists to Brazil.
