Arabic dance festival descends upon Brazil
Tourist will be flooding to Sao Paulo this weekend for an Arabic-themed extravaganza of dance and music.
An event that is likely to interest those with an eye on Brazilian property, the Super Harem Nights show will take over the Santo Agostinho theatre on Saturday.
As well as traditional Middle Eastern dancing, there will also be short performances of Japanese and Spanish styles in what director Jorge Sabongi hails "a mosaic of eastern culture".
He adds: "It is like a dream, like the Thousand and One Nights. It is a very colourful show and will suit children to the elderly."
The concept originated in local Sao Paulo teahouse Khan el Khalili, which holds regular Arabic dance events on Sundays.
In related news, Arabic tourists are also welcoming the extension of fast food emporium Mister Sheik. The chain is expanding its eatery line in string of Brazilian cities later this year.
