Brazil car sales hit record level in June, up by 21.5%
Brazilian car sales soared by 21.5 per cent between May and June, hitting a record level of 300,174 units, according to the latest figures.
The National Automotive Dealership Association, Fenabrave, reported that the economic recovery and generous government tax breaks have fuelled consumer demand.
Sales of new vehicles were also up by 17.2 per cent compared to June 2008, according to the organisation.
Over the first six months of 2009, the number of cars and trucks sold to consumers has risen by three per cent compared to the same period last year, Brazilian property investors may be interested to learn.
Total sales in the first half of the year reached 1.45 million, despite the global economic recession.
Another government incentive scheme which is showing signs of success is the Minha Casa, Minha Vida (My Home, My Life) Brazilian property initiative.
