Brazil could offer a hole in one for lovers of golf and sun
Brazil has launched a plan to promote golf in the Latin American nation, which may encourage fans of the sport to buy property in the country.
The nation’s Ministry of Tourism – Embratur – presented the ’strategic plan of the Brazilian bureau of tourism of golf 2008′ at a lecture in March.
Peter Walton, president of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators, also spoke at the event to mark the plan’s launch.
The plan has opened up resources for the international promotion of Brazil as a tourist destination for golfers.
Embratur is promoting 11 different tourist products – of which golf is one – across more than ten countries.
It launched a dedicated section on its website to provide information on the various golf courses and related tourist tours available.
Earlier in the year, global leisure club chain, David Lloyd, was signed up to manage a new golfing resort that had been granted planning permission in Belmonte.
