Brazil offers ‘all kinds of tourism’
Brazil offers holidaymakers "all kinds of tourism" options as well as "wide-ranging" flight availability, says one industry expert.
The Brazilian Embassy’s tourist office said that, from sporting activities on beaches to spas and mud baths, the Latin American nation has enough to cater to the young and old alike.
General manager of the tourist office of the Brazilian Embassy in London, Tom Falcao, said: "Rio has always been our visitor postcard. It’s famous for its location, it’s tremendously beautiful."
He added: "There are places with thermal waters, hot waters and cold waters, and the southern part of Minas Gerais is very famous for its mud baths. They have several water spas as well."
Getting to Brazil has got a lot easier over recent years and there are now three companies flying from London to Brazil – TAM Brazilian Airways, Varig Brazilian Airlines and BA.
TAP, Air Portugal, however, provides the strongest European service to Brazil, operating 54 flights to the Latin American nation per week.
Brazil’s tourism office recommends a range of activities to try out once in the sunny nation including horseback riding, kayaking, rafting, football, surfing and trekking.
