Brazil ‘plays important role for Unasul’
People considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear the nation has been praised for playing an important role in improving relations between its neighbours, it has been reported.
The visit of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to Bolivia and Colombia will be key to accelerating integration within South America, claims Virgilio Arraes, professor of international relations at the University of Brasilia.
Speaking to Agencia Brasil, Professor Arraes said the Latin American nation’s role as mediator between its neighbours can bring about more unity and help the integration of the Union of South American Nations (Unasul).
"The visit is a reflection of proximity between the two countries, signalling the desire of the Bolivian government to normalise its relationship with Brazil," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the nation was also branded a "success story" on a state visit this week by the foreign minister of Jordan, Salaheddine Al-Bashir, reports the ANBA.
