Brazil to enjoy grain boom
Those looking at property for sale in Brazil could be interested to hear the Latin American nation may be set to enjoy booming grain production within the course of the next decade, it is being claimed.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, the nation should double its production of grain by 2018, it has been reported by the Brazzil Magazine.
Speaking at a press conference, Silas Brasileiro, the executive secretary of the ministry also announced a forecast of 143.7 million tonnes of grain to be harvested during the 2007-08 crop.
"Ours is quite an ambitious plan. I believe that by means of our research, government planning, and increased financing for both family and entrepreneurial farming, we believe that in the next ten years our productivity should double," he added.
It was predicted by economists in the New York Times last month that Brazil is about to achieve its potential as a world player.
