Brazil to get property boost from new airline expansion
Property investors looking to Brazil will be buoyed by the news that an airline in the country has been expanding its fleet.
This week Brazil’s TAM Airlines announced that it has taken it orders for the Boeing 777 over the 1,000th mark.
In total, TAM’s fleet has now purchased 1,003 777s since there were available for order and purchase back in 1990.
Recent years have seen an increasing demand for passenger flights within and to Brazil.
Larry Loftis, Boeing 777 program vice president, said: "TAM’s recent orders confirm airline preference for the 777 family which commands more than a 65 percent market share in its category because of its lower operating costs, passenger pleasing cabin and unmatched reliability.
"We have continually enhanced and improved the performance of the 777 family of airplanes. Today, we have grown that family to include two, new, longer range 777s and a freighter version that will enter service in the fourth quarter of 2008."
Rio de Janeiro is an increasingly popular investment location for overseas investors with centrally placed smart apartments available in the city’s CBD or mountainside villas on offer as more holiday home centric options.
