Brazil touted to Kuwaiti travellers
Brazil will be touted to Kuwaiti travellers as a prime holiday destination following a diplomatic visit, according to new reports.
The ambassador of Kuwait, Waleed Al-Kandari, said during his visit to the Brazilian capital, Brasilia, this month that he will recommend the resort of Costao do Santinho, in the southern state of Santa Catarina, to travel agencies in his home nation.
Michel Alaby, the secretary-general at the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, told Brazilian-Arab news agency ANBA: "The ambassador loved the resort and was very enthused."
Costao do Santinho is located on the Praia do Santinho beach, which has a total area of one million square metres, and was voted the best beach resort in Brazil for the third year in a row in October this year.
Following his visit to the southern region of Brazil, the ambassador is now interested in visiting the north-eastern region of the country which is also a tourist hotspot.
A new airport is planned for Natal in the north-eastern region of Brazil, which is due to be completed in 2010, and will be the fourth largest airport in the world.
