Brazil unveils tourism summit theme
Brazil’s leading tourism officials have met with members of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) to unveil the theme of this year’s global summit to be held in Florianopolis, Brazilian property investors may be interested to learn.
The Brazilian minister of tourism, Luiz Barretto, and the president of the country’s tourism board Embratur, Jeanine Pires, as well as high-profile representatives of Santa Catarina state, revealed the theme of the ninth Global Travel and Tourism Summit will be Real Partnerships – Energizing Economies.
Mr Pires described the event as "the world’s highest-level gathering of global industry leaders to discuss ways in which the industry can overcome the economic downturn and play a role in re-energising economies worldwide".
National, state and local governments from Brazil and other countries will meet with leaders from the private sector representing every continent at the summit, which the WTTC says has been acclaimed as an "exemplary public-private partnership".
Recently, Chris Fuzinatto, director of Embratur said the organisation is working to promote Brazil around the world with an international marketing strategy called the Watercolour Brand.
