Brazilian airline VRG has announced that it will launch a new flight route to Chile.
The low-cost carrier will operate daily flights between Sao Paulo and Santiago, further improving the country’s aviation network.
Flights to the fellow Latin American country will depart from Guarulhos International Airport at 10.50 a.m. local time and arrive in the Chilean capital at 1.50 p.m. local time.
On return, the flight will depart from Santiago’s Merino Benitez International Airport at 3:30 p.m. local time, arriving back in Brazil at 8 p.m. local time.
Lincoln Amano, VRG’s commercial director, said: "Launching the Sao Paulo to Santiago route is another step in the expansion of VRG’s route network, which currently offers connections between countries in South America and Europe."
At present the airline flies to Frankfurt, London, Paris and Rome in Europe as well as Buenos Aires and Caracas in South America.
Brazil’s tourism institute Embratur says that since 2002 Chile has ranked eleventh among the top 15 countries providing tourists to Brazil.
