Brazilian carnivals ‘unlike anything ever experienced’
The Brazilian carnivals are a huge attraction for British tourists as people unite to enjoy themselves, according to one writer.
Greg Ash, blogging for travelbite.co.uk, describes his trip to the festivities in the northern town of Olinda, saying that the usual barriers of communication and insecurities disappear during the events.
"You’ll find yourself dancing with a stranger as if you’ve known them all your life, sharing drinks and taking photos, before you move off and into the arms of another group," he writes.
Greg says that there is plenty on offer for travellers to enjoy, including stalls serving fresh fruit caipirinhas, hot food stands and of course plenty of entertainment in the form of dancers and local bands.
He adds that it was unlike anything he had experienced before and that he could not help but admire the spectacle.
Laura Rendell-Dunn, marketing manager at Journey Latin America, recently explained that Brazilians love their festivals and often stage a street party every month.
