Brazilian holidays have top eco credentials
Brazilian holidays are the top choice for those watching their eco credentials, according to a new report.
The April edition of National Geographic magazine has named the Latin American nation in its list of green destinations, due to the efforts the country is making to protect its local wildlife and its habitat.
National Geographic draws particular attention to work that has been carried out in the Pantanal region of Brazil, where some of the world’s largest wetlands can be found.
Ranchers grazing the land for the cattle and beef industries had previously put the wetlands in danger but a new sustainable approach to this type of trade has helped the area recover.
In related news, the South American destination management company, Condor Travel, announced earlier this month that it intends to expand its business tourism operations into Brazil.
Sammy Niego, group managing director of Condor Travel, said: "Our first-hand knowledge, expertise, buying power and network in Brazil and throughout South America simply allows our clients to secure the finest program, infrastructure and service delivery in the marketplace."
