Brazilian property is ’stealing a march on the US’
Property investors are about to see a shift in power during the early part of the 21st century, with Brazil leading the way, according to an industry expert.
Graham Norwood, a property correspondent for the Observer, told Emirates Business that the established western nations in Europe and North America are going to be put under pressure by emerging countries from other continents.
Mr Norwood added that, despite the recession, Brazilian property investment is going to prove popular, along with China, India and parts of the Middle East.
"Contrast it with what is happening in Chicago. True, this handsome US city is in the throes of a reshaping of its skyline but the scheme has been derailed by the downturn," he added.
Brazilian property investment is also going to be boosted by the large number of infrastructure improvements which will be made with the 2014 football World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games coming to the country.
