Brazilian property sector ‘among best overseas opportunities’
Emerging markets, such as the Brazilian property sector, continue to offer good investment opportunities for overseas real estate investors, according to an expert.
John Howell, a British lawyer and senior partner of The International Law Partnership, writing for the Irish Times, says emerging sectors, including the Brazil real estate market, continue to grow and generate good income yields.
He suggests that those countries which have "essential commodities" such as oil and minerals are likely to recover from the global economic downturn quicker, suggesting Brazil will be well-placed to emerge from the recession.
Mr Howell recommends that Brazilian property investors make sure they have a clear plan outlining what they want to buy and why.
"If you are buying somewhere to live, there are some ground rules: buy in a place that you love. If you are buying a holiday home, think about when will you use it," he suggests.
Meanwhile, Shelter Offshore has suggested that Brazil is a good country for British expats to move to due to its low cost of living.
