Brazilian workers ’see pay increases’
The payroll of workers in Brazil increased by 1.3 per cent month-on-month in July, according to official figures.
Data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics also found that wages increase by 6.9 per cent at the end of July compared to the figure from 2007, reports brazzilmag.com.
In news which may affect the price of property in Brazil, Sao Paulo experienced the highest wage increases of 7.4 per cent.
Workers in the city’s chemical industry are reported to have experienced pay increases of over 25 per cent year-on-year, with the transportation sector having increased ten per cent in the same period.
Across Brazil, the two sectors experienced average wage growth of 16.6 and 11.9 per cent respectively.
It has been announced by finance minister Guido Mantenga that Brazil’s Real currency has sunk to its lowest level since January.
