British group signs Brazilian deal
A British organisation has completed a deal with a region of Brazil to develop business in the area.
The North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pernambuco region of the South American country, with the deal working on a number of synergies with the area, which may boost the number of people looking for property in Brazil.
Stan Higgins, chief executive of NEPIC, told NEBusiness the deal will "improve inward investment opportunities and trade for our indigenous companies".
"They are interested in acquiring skills and development. This is about using our knowledge economy to help other countries grow," he added.
An exploratory visit was carried out by the UK Trade & Investment and regional development agency One North East in the spring, leading to this deal being signed, the source stated.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by a top-level Brazilian delegation, involving Fernando Bezerra Coelho, the state’s secretary of economic development, and may lead to an increase in the number of people looking for property in Brazil.
Brazil has recently seen a boost after the China Construction Bank revealed it plans to open new offices there.
