British lottery winner plans trip to Brazil
A British lottery winner says he intends to jet off to stay in property in Brazil with a holiday to Rio de Janeiro after he bagged £25 million on the EuroMillions.
Brian Caswell, 74, revealed that he and his wife Joan, 72, had fairly modest ideas about what they would do with the money, including getting in a professional to help them grow carrots on their allotment.
"I have always wanted to go to Rio. Joan isn’t a keen flyer but it will be much easier to persuade her now we can afford to go in the front of the plane," he said.
With the large cheque from the lottery, they will be able to afford to buy a property in Brazil, let alone just stay in one.
The couple also said they will be sharing their new-found fortune with their family and explained they plan to remain close to relatives even though they will move to a larger house.
Meanwhile, president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has made another impassioned plea for Rio de Janeiro to be chosen as the host city for the 2016 Olympic games.
