Embraer continues to enjoy success
One Brazilian aviation manufacturer has signed a new contract to provide five jets to Niki Luftfahrt GmbH, it has been announced.
The deal between Embraer and the Austrian firm was signed at the 46th Farnborough Airshow, in England, and is said to be worth $187.5 million (£94 million).
People considering buying property in Brazil could take confidence in the company’s buoyant performance, which hints at economic resilience in the Latin American nation.
Mauro Kern, the firm’s executive vice president for its airline market, said: "Niki’s decision to select the Embraer 190 to complement its existing fleet of narrow-body
jets is great news, indeed."
Deliveries of the jets should begin in the first half of 2009.
The firm revealed earlier in the week it delivered a record number of jets during the second quarter of 2008.
Its figures showed a 59 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2007.
