Growth in Brazilian flights
There has been significant growth in the number of holidaymakers jetting to Brazil during 2007, it has emerged.
Figures published by travel website ResponsibleTravel.com have revealed a 95 per cent increase in travel to Brazil in 2007, reports TravelWeekly.co.uk.
ResponsibleTravel.com also notes that flights to Brazil will continue to be popular with travellers looking for adventure holidays.
Justin Francis, managing director of the website, said: "In 2008 tour operators [will] begin to offer trips [to locations previously perceived as dangerous] as people become more confident in getting ‘off the beaten track’ and search for that truly authentic travel experience."
Brazil is the largest of the Latin American countries, covering almost half of South America – 47.3 per cent.
The Brazilian tourism institute Embratur estimates that tourism in the country is increasing annually at a rate of 7.2 per cent.
Such an increase is good news for the country’s property market, as the influx of foreign travellers will create a lucrative market for holiday rentals in many tourist hotspots.
