Marriott tries to lure more tourists to Brazil
Marriott Brazil is trying to lure more Muslim tourists to the country by offering a differentiated service in some of its hotels, it has been reported.
The hotel chain wants to make Arab tourists feel more at home in its hotels by providing a compass to find the direction of Mecca for prayers and by making a copy of the Qu’ran available at all times, according to Brazzil Mag.
Rodrigo Canto, the hotel’s account manager, said that the offering of Arabic tea and the removal of alcoholic beverages from mini-bars would also be available to guests.
"Our objective is to cause the guest who has already stayed at the hotel to return, as it is a specific service that is not offered by any other hotel in Rio de Janeiro," he added.
