Minister promotes Brazil as a tourist destination
The Brazilian minister for tourism is in the middle of a promotional tour in China, where she is touting the Latin American nation as a top holiday location.
Marta Suplicy will continue her official visit to China until March 28th, examining the nation’s preparations for the Olympic Games in order to gain expertise in preparation for Brazil hosting the World Cup in 2014.
During her trip, she will meet with Du Jiang, the vice-president of the China National Tourism Administration; Yang Shu’an, the executive vice-president of the organising commission of the Beijing Olympic Games; and Zhang Lan, the senior vice-president of Air China.
Ms Suplicy will also host a seminar, entitled ‘Brazil – Get to know and become a fan’, which is aimed at selling the country as a tourism destination.
The promotion of Brazil as a top tourist location may be good news for those thinking of buying property in the nation, as holidaymakers may need accommodation to rent during their stay.
