President Obama to visit Brazil
President Barack Obama is set to visit Brazil this summer, which may interest those who are looking invest in Brazilian property.
A visit from the US leader – which could take place between July and September, although no date has been set – is likely to generate huge interest in the country.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s spokesperson Marcelo Baumbach confirmed the two leaders spoke on the phone for around 25 minutes and agreed to meet in the US in March, when they will discuss working on biofuels.
He said Mr Obama wishes to discuss global trade as a way to strengthen economic growth.
The president believes his country can benefit from Brazil’s experience in alternative fuels, Mr Baumbach added.
Recently, Frances Tuke, a spokesperson for ABTA – The Travel Association, said US tourism will experience an ‘Obama boom’ with more people travelling to the North American country because of the new president, which could also be the case for Brazil when he visits the country.
