Property investors drawn to north-east Brazil
Those looking for an exotic holiday home are becoming increasingly drawn to the north-eastern coast of Brazil, according to a report in the Times.
It is noted in the article, which looks at buy-to-let abroad, that the 1,000 mile coast from Salvador to Fortaleza offers resorts, golf courses and spas.
However, fears of overdevelopment are quashed by the paper: "The emergence of an increasingly affluent Brazilian middle class means there is not too great a dependence on British and other foreign buyers."
As the area becomes increasingly known as a place for those looking to invest in property, the Brazilian minister of tourism has visited China to encourage Chinese investments, reports China View.
Marta Suplicy has said that her visit is to learn from the Chinese preparations ahead of this year’s Olympic Games, as well as to attract visitors to Brazil – with the hopes that 100,000 tourists from China will arrive in the South American country in 2008.
