Rio seen as ‘celebrity hotspot’
A new report has revealed that Rio de Janeiro is among several destinations considered to be celebrity hotspots by holidaymakers.
Brazilian property investors may be interested to know that more than a third of holidaymakers surveyed by Cater Allen base their choice of destination on a location’s reputation for attracting celebrities.
Meanwhile, 46 per cent said they consider the type of holiday they take to say something about them as people.
The firm stated one in five people spend over £2,500 on holidays every year, while 32 per cent spend more than ten per cent of their overall income.
As such, purchasing a holiday is now the third most "important expense" behind buying a property and investing for the future, Cater Allen said.
Earlier this year, currency specialist HiFX reported a growing interest in Brazilian property among UK investors.
The company said many were seeking to make the most of the next "property hotspot".
