Syria want to increase Brazil trade
Brazilian property could benefit from greater trade ties with Syria, which the Arab country is calling for, it has been reported.
Syria’s minister of economy and trade, Amer Husni Lufti is pleading for increased trade relations between his country and Brazil, according to the ANBA.
He met a Brazilian delegation yesterday (August 20th) in Damascus to speak about investment opportunities.
Michel Alaby, the secretary general of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, said the minister told the delegation his country was interested in Brazilian agricultural machinery, ore exploration equipment and material for solar energy and silos.
It was reported by the Mercopress news agency this week that US democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is planning on making a trip to Brazil.
His visit would deliver a strong message of rapprochement and it aims to counteract his Republican opponent John McCain’s trip to nearby Colombia.
Obama’s camp consulted with regional experts about which countries to visit.
