Tourism summit shows off ‘top notch’ Brazilian hospitality
Brazil’s staging of the Global Travel and Tourism Summit showed that the country’s hospitality is "top notch", according to one commentator.
Nelson Alcantra, writing for Travel Video News, said Santa Catarina, which was the location of this year’s convention, showed off the best of music, dining and socialising in Brazil.
The gala dinner also demonstrated the country’s philanthropic efforts, helping to raise money for an Amazon conservation project, he added.
"[It] was presented as a multi-million dollar production utilising the best that can only be expected from Brazil’s world-class showmanship," Mr Alcantra asserted.
He recommends a visit to the country, which he describes as an "unsung tourism jewel".
Mr Alcantra added that the global summit also showcased the diversity of Brazil’s gastronomy industry, with the gala dinner featuring food from various regions, plus the famous cocktail caprinha.
Following the convention last week, leaders called for greater collaboration between governmental and private sector organisations in order to boost the economy through tourism, ETN reported.
