Trade fair makes $52m for Brazil
One of the biggest trade fairs in the world has generated over $52 million (£26 million) in business for Brazil.
The Big Five Show in Dubai is the Gulf’s largest trade fair in the construction sector and export deals totalling $28 million (£14 million) were closed for Brazil within the first five days of the exhibition.
Marketing vice president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Rubens Hannun, who also attended the fair, spoke of the Latin American country’s success at the event to Brazilian-Arab news agency ANBA.
He said: "Brazil has really made its presence felt at the fair, as a result of the stand’s location, the communication work, featuring banners and also bags bearing the logos of Brazilian companies circulating around the fair."
According to ANBA, business volume for the country at the fair grew by 40 per cent in comparison with 2006.
Over 4,700 people visited the Brazilian stand this year compared with 1,200 visitors in 2006.
Promotion of the construction industry may be good news for Brazil’s real estate sector, as it gives developers the chance to showcase new-builds in the country.
