WTTC ‘head to Santa Catarina’
People looking at property for sale in Brazil could be interested to hear a world tourism body will visit Santa Catarina to assess the city’s infrastructure.
The Brazilian Tourism Board (Embratur) has revealed a commission of executive officers of the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC) will visit state capital Florianopolis this month.
According to Embratur, the WTTC are considering using the city to host a global summit next May and a decision will be made next month.
"Santa Catarina is prepared to host the meeting. We will introduce the state into the global tourism circuit. We will achieve the goals requested and I absolutely sure that we will sign the final commitment," governor Luiz Henrique said.
Meanwhile, it was reported by the Brazzil magazine that airline TAM started flying direct routes from Rio to Miami and New York this month.
The firm is reported by the publication as saying Rio de Janeiro market is strategic to its interests.
