WTTC to visit Santa Catarina
A southern Brazilian state will host a global travel and tourism conference next year, it has been revealed.
The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced its Global Travel and Tourism Summit will be held in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina.
According to the council, the event has the full support of the Brazilian government and the state’s local authorities.
People considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear the news which suggests a number of people will visit the state during May 15th and 16th when the summit will take place.
Luis Henrique da Silveira, the governor of Santa Catarina, said he was delighted to welcome the WTTC to the state.
"Our partnership with the government of Brazil and the government of Santa Catarina will provide a much needed platform for dialogue among leaders of industry and government, shaping the future of Travel & Tourism worldwide," Jean-Claude Baumgarten, WTTC president and chief executive officer said.
Meanwhile, Brazzil Magazine reported this week that US president-elect Barack Obama has accepted President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s invitation to visit Brazil.
