World Cup host cities ‘could draw Brazilian property buyers’
Brazilian property investors may want to purchase accommodation in Natal and Fortaleza after they were named as two of the 12 host cities for the 2014 World Cup.
Sepp Blatter, president of football’s global governing body FIFA, unveiled the venues at executive committee meetings in the Caribbean.
Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Cuaiba, Curitiba, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Sao Paulo are also likely to appeal to Brazilian property investors as the remaining ten choices for 2014.
"It was a very difficult decision to choose just 12 venues from the initial list of 17. We want to make this World Cup a sporting success and this is the most important thing," said Mr Blatter.
Belem, Campo Grande, Goiania, Rio Branco and Florianopolis were the cities that missed out on selection.
Meanwhile, James Gonzalez, market analyst at Obelisk Investment Property, has said that the Brazil real estate sector has "everything going for it" at the moment.
