American and GOL flights deal ‘could serve Brazilian property investors’
American Airlines has signed a deal with Brazilian carrier GOL to make it easier to fly into the South American country.
The ticketing and baggage agreement means customers flying with the US airline and transferring onto a GOL service will only need one receipt for their journey and will have their luggage taken all the way to their final destination, which could serve Brazilian property investors.
It is the latest in a number of additions to American Airlines’ Brazilian services in recent months, which have expanded to include flights between Miami and Belo Horizonte, Recife, Salvador and Sao Paulo, as well as connections from New York City to Rio de Janeiro.
"Our service to major Brazilian cities, combined with GOL’s flights to dozens of destinations in that country, means that American will offer a level of accessibility to and from Brazil unequalled by any other airline," says Peter Dolara, senior vice president of Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America at the carrier.
Recently, Jonathan O’Shaughnessy, director of marketing for Emerginvest, said Brazilian property offers a good short-term investment opportunity.
