Arabs launch new resort
Arab businessmen are to launch a new luxury resort in the southern region of Santa Catarina.
The resort that will be launched in May is called Termas do Tabuleiro, and is in the city of Santo Amaro da Imperatriz.
ANBA reports that the area of the resort covers 390,000 square miles but only 80,000 will be used.
The remaining area will be an environmental reserve as the resort is in a green area bordering the Tauleiro mountain range.
It will be the first Brazilian venture for Baden Baden Hotels and Tourism – a company owned by the Jordanian Bassan Giorge Necola Hanna and the Kuwaiti Khaled Rodan.
According to Hanna, the company has plans to launch other enterprises in the future.
Baden Baden plans to use mineral water from a spring that produces 60,000 litres per hour.
The resort will have a five-star hotel, a wave pool and a spa, and total investment in the project will reach $52 million (£26m).
Santa Catarina is Brazil’s smallest state with only six million residents.
