Artist built property in Brazil after falling for country
A celebrity photographer has revealed how he decided to build his own property in Brazil after falling in love with the country while on tour with the Spice Girls.
Dean Freeman tells the Times that he bought a plot of land on the edge of the Amazonian rainforest in Bahia state after he was impressed by the Brazilian culture.
"They are a happy, positive people, and have a resilient way of dealing with things, which I find inspiring. If friends are miserable, I tend to say ‘Just pop over to Brazil’," he says.
For this reason he built a two-bedroom property with breath-taking views of the surrounding rainforest, the newspaper reports.
The house is a short drive from the seaside town of Trancoso, which Mr Freeman calls the St Tropez of Brazil, where model Gisele Bundchen has a home.
Recently, Ronan McMahon, writing for Nuwire Investor, said Brazilian property owners will benefit from the government’s proposed $23.5 billion (£15.8 billion) investment in transportation and infrastructure.
