Beckham to boost Brazilian property market
David Beckham’s decision to open a football academy in Brazil will boost the nation’s property market, according to one industry expert.
Samantha Gore, sales and marketing director of Brazilian real estate specialist uv10, claims that "tourism and property investment are close cousins" with each having a huge knock–on affect on the other.
"The more people are attracted to an area the more buoyant the property market becomes, for they all need short-term accommodation," she explained.
Disneyland’s transformation of Florida’s property market was used as an example, as was Dubailand which has created a property-hungry tourism market in Dubai.
Samantha continued: "We can only imagine the effect that events such as the World Cup will have on Brazil."
In areas such as Pipa, just south of Natal, property prices are reported to be increasing at a rate of between 20 to 30 per cent per year.
Expert researchers for the UK-based Property Investor and Homebuyer Show tipped Brazil as an emerging country poised on the verge of a property boom last year.
