Brazil ‘advised to invest in green jobs’
Green minded Brazilian property investors could be interested to hear it is being claimed that the time to invest in green jobs in the Latin American nation is now, it has been reported.
According to Agencia Brasil, Peter Poschen, the main advisor for sustainable development of the International Labour Organization (ILO), said the financial crisis has presented a favourable opportunity.
Mr Poschen said that government investment will be in technology – such as sustainable construction methods – that will provide financial returns in the future.
"In previous crises, such as 1929, the government’s actions to reverse the economic problems eventually becoming the works that [influenced] the development of countries like the United States during the following years," he claimed.
Meanwhile, it has been reported by Mercopress that Brazilian footwear giant Alpargatas Sao Paulo has taken over its Argentinian counterpart.
The move could be of interest to those considering buying property for sale in Brazil as it could suggest the Latin American nation is enjoying a period of economic resilience.
