Foreign Exchange
When purchasing a property in Brazil you naturally want the best deal on foreign exchange and that’s why uv10 has partnered with Moneycorp to offer the best currency exchange services.
As the Brazilian Real is a protected currency (not internationally traded) foreign exchange has, up until now, presented some unique challenges:-
- Reals cannot be sent into Brazil, you must send a foreign currency to be converted upon receipt in Brazil, and often not at the best rates.
- Money used for the purchase of property in Brazil, or for the application of a residency visa, must be sent into the country from an account in the name of the person who is buying the property or applying for the visa. In the case of a property purchase, developers are only able to receive the funds on their end if the account name matches the exact name on the purchase contract.
- All money sent into Brazil must be recognized by the Central Bank (Banco Central). If your money is not correctly registered when it is sent in, complications are likely to arise when you wish to bring the funds back out upon the eventual sale of your property.
These regulations, up until now, have left buyers with little say about when and where their money is converted and at what rate. It has also made it almost impossible to send the correct amount in foreign currency as the exchange rate fluctuates on a daily basis.
New services available from Moneycorp, in a unique cooperation with a leading Brazilian exchange bank, ensure the following:
- That your payments are correctly registered against your name.
- That your money arrives the next day in Brazil.
- That you benefit from the far more favourable exchange rates offered by the exchange bank.
- That you can fix the amount you send in against its Real value for up to 3 days, so no need to worry about shortfalls and overpayment.
Moneycorp is able to offer clients peace of mind and the reassurance that their money is going further.
