Brazil firm breaks ground on US assembly plant
One of the leading exporters in Brazil has broken ground on its first US assembly plat.
In news which may interest people considering buying property in Brazil, Sao Paolo-based Embraer, the world’s largest producer of commercial jets with up to 120 seats, has begun work on its centre at Melbourne International Airport in Florida, which could hint at economic buoyancy among manufacturers in Brazil.
The new production facility is set to be dedicated to producing planes for its executive jet business and construction on the facility is scheduled for completion in 2010.
Frederico Fleury Curado, president and chief executive officer for Embraer, said the firm was "excited" about "strengthening our presence in the state of Florida".
He added: "Today’s groundbreaking celebrates a milestone for Embraer, by launching its first U.S.assembly plant, devoted to the executive jet business."
Brazzil Magazine recently reported that firms in the country are hoping to see the establishment of a national foreign trade policy which could help them to be more competitive.
