Brazil home to alternative fuel deal
Brazil could be set to get some new business deals after two companies made an agreement on engineering programmes.
Orbital Corporation and Sygma Motors, which is based in Brazil, have discussed the deal, which will see them join on business initiatives in the country.
Both companies will work for the end customer of Vale Solutions in Energy, with Orbital’s FlexDI technology to be used by Sygma for the deal.
The engineering, which has been tipped as the most promising technology for Sygma’s high-efficiency heavy duty Flex Fuel engines, will be supported by $1.6 million (£1.07 million) of investment.
Chief executive officer of Orbital Terry Stinson says the company is pleased to be continuing to work with the Brazilian company.
He adds: "Brazil is recognized as the leading country in the use of renewable fuels and provides an excellent foundation for the expansion of FlexDI ethanol – CNG engine applications."
The investment in Brazil industry follows a move by fuel form Petrobras to increase its five-year investment plan by five per cent.
