Brazil is world’s ‘most interesting’ property market
Brazil has been named the most interesting property market in the world by a leading real estate expert this week.
Samuel Lieber, head of the Alpine International Real Estate Equity Fund, made the comments speaking to Bloomberg, explaining that property markets in emerging economies were becoming a lucrative option.
He said: "In 1989, we were hard-pressed to invest in 16 countries. Now we’re invested in 28 and looking to invest in 35.
"[However Brazil is] potentially the most interesting market in the world."
Its developing public real estate market and 30-year mortgage products, which are now widely available, were cited as major factors in making the country a good place to invest in.
Earlier this month Brazil was named the best place in Latin America for property investment after Chile, by NuWireInvestor.
The online property news site highlighted the north-eastern region of Brazil as a hotspot for investors due to its golden beaches and consistently hot weather.
Brazil’s "competitive currency" also helps investors keep their overheads relatively low, according to the website.
