Brazil named top adventure destination
Brazil has been named the best destination in the world for adventure along with Nepal, it has been announced.
The South American country was chosen by National Geographic to receive the award, the second time it has won in this category in the past three years.
Experts from the world of tourism compiled the report on the best adventure destinations, which is aimed at giving the magazine’s 2.5 million readers guidance on where to travel for a thrill-seeking trip.
National Geographic’s travel and tourism director, Bryan Kinkade, says Brazil was chosen because of its improved infrastructure, the many natural sites and pristine beaches it offers and the enhanced access to the Amazon, according to etravelblackboard.com.
Recently, Laura Rendell-Dunn, marketing manager at Journey Latin America, said Brazil is the "perfect destination for travellers looking for nature, adventure and culture, as "it offers something for everybody".
She said Florianopolis is a great location for thrill-seekers as it offers white-water rafting, trekking and surfing.
