Brazil news: 1.4m jobs created in first half of 2010
Those considering buying property in Brazil could be encouraged by a record number of new jobs being created between January and June 2010.
A survey issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Labour’s general register of employed and unemployed showed that the country saw the highest number of new job openings since June 2008, Brazzil Mag has reported.
Last month, 212,952 new jobs were created across Brazil, bringing the total figure for the year-to-date to 1,473,000.
While June 2010’s numbers were still down on the record high of 309,000 jobs in June 2008, the figure marks an improvement which could encourage more people to buy Brazilian property.
Had it not been for a dip in employment vacancies in May, where just 298,000 new positions were created, June 2010 would have marked a run of six consecutive months of growth in the job market.
The figures follow the announcement of 12 Brazilian cities to be the home of the 2014 World Cup, including Natal and Salvador.
