Brazil Olympic committee outlines vision for 2016
Brazil’s Olympic bid committee has pledged to "build a bridge" between London 2012 and Rio 2016 if it secures the Games, continuing Britain’s mission of inspiring young people around the world.
The panel presented to international sports figures and members of the Olympic Family at Sport Accord in Denver, Colorado.
Sergio Cabral, governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro, the city’s mayor, Eduardo Paes, and president of the Brazilian Olympic and bid committees, Carlos Robero Osario, were among the delegates, as well as Adriana Behar, Rio 2016 Ambassador and six-time world champion and twice Olympic silver-medallist.
Mr Nuzman highlighted the logistical benefits of hosting the Games in Brazil, saying it offers a favourable time zone for broadcasters, plus new markets for sponsors.
"We can build a bridge from London 2012 to Rio 2016, passing the baton to pursue the mission of inspiring young people all around the world," he said.
Recently, James Gonzalez, market analyst at Obelisk Investment Property, said those with real estate in Brazil are likely to benefit from the country staging major sporting events as rental accommodation will be popular with visitors.
