Brazil property owners to be boosted by tourism boom
Brazil property owners could benefit from thousands of holidaymakers entering the country after the South American nation was awarded the 2016 Olympic Games.
Laura Rendell-Dunn, spokesperson for Journey Latin America, said that the event will be great for tourism and for Brazilian property owners as anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro for the Games is likely to spend the rest of their time in the country visiting the beaches and waterfalls that it has to offer.
She added: "To go that distance from Europe can be quite costly with airfares, so most people would want to make the most out of their stay there and may bolt on another week to visit some of Brazil’s gems."
Miss Rendell-Dunn commented that Brazil was "overwhelmed" by the award of the Games as it is the first time that they have been held in South America.
Brazil fought off stiff competition from Madrid, Chicago and Tokyo at a final presentation in Copenhagen on October 2nd to earn the hosting rights.
