Brazil: The epicentre of a ‘construction boom’
Brazil is at the epicentre of a "construction boom", according to new reports.
Next month, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency will take more than 20 Brazilian construction experts on a trade mission in a bid to capitalise on this thriving industry.
The group will visit Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and end their trip at the Big 5 Show in the Middle East, which is the main fair in this sector.
President of Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Sarkis Junior told Brazilian-Arab news agency, ANBA: "We are going to take the companies to get to know countries that are experiencing a process of heavy investment in the infrastructure and civil construction fields.
"Those are countries that justify a strong presence due to their market potential."
ANBA reports that from January to September this year Brazilian construction exports to Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates totalled almost $10 million (£4.8 million), almost a 33.7 per cent increase from the same period in 2006.
These developments may well benefit the real estate industry in Brazil, if the growing construction sector focuses on developing high-yielding property investment opportunities.
