Brazilian airline expands partnership with NHT
Brazilian airline TAM has signed a deal to expand its business agreement with regional airline NHT, as of today.
The expansion will enable TAM to commercialise flights offered by the firm, which is based in southern Brazil.
Under the new deal, TAM will operate flights to the Brazilian cities of Erechim and Passo Fundo, in Rio Grande do Sul and Criciuma, in Santa Catarina, making internal travel in the country easier.
Passengers wishing to take advantage of the new deal can benefit from being able to make immediate connections between TAM and NHT flights, purchasing one ticket to cover both stages of their trip.
TAM has also served other cities in the southern region of Brazil including Pelotas, Rio Grande, Santa Maria, Santa Rosa, Santo Angelo and Uruguaiana, since last September.
Last week a hotelier from Ouro Preto told Portuguese news agency, Lusa, that he expected a new flight introduced by TAM flying between the Minas Gerais region and Portugal to boost tourism in the area by 20 per cent.
Carlos Teixeira Niquini said: "Our expectations are the best possible as the Portuguese will get the chance to go to the historical cities of Minas Gerais, which are essentially Portuguese."
The new flight will run between Lisbon and Belo Horizonte, further improving access to Brazil from Europe by plane.
