Brazilian bonds ‘an attractive investment’
A fund manager has singled out Brazilian bonds as being among the most attractive global investment options, which may interest those looking at Brazilian property.
In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Pacific Investment Management Company co-head of emerging markets Michael Gomez said the country’s local bonds offer better returns than many of their rivals.
"When we look around and we see places that have a combination of healthy balance sheet, favorable valuations and orthodox policies, one place that stands out is the local markets in Brazil," he explained.
Mr Gomez also told the news provider that Brazil’s higher interest rates and promising levels of economic growth make it a sounder investment proposition than many other countries.
Last month, F&C Emerging Markets Fund manager Jeff Chowdhry claimed that Brazil is one of the developing countries which have the best medium to long-term outlook for investment prospects.
Mr Chowdhry said that the nation’s large economy, strong banking sector and reliable agricultural, energy and mineral resources make it attractive to investors.
