Brazilian property boosted by tourism figures
Brazilian property could be boosted by the number of people that are visiting the country on an annual basis, according to an industry expert.
Chris Fuzinatto, director of Embratur, the Brazilian tourist office for the UK and Ireland, said that the number of passengers arriving in the South American country on flights from abroad reached an all-time high in February.
A total of 619,660 people arrived in the country on international flights, a 22 per cent rise on the same month in 2009, when 107,664 people entered Brazil.
Mr Fuzinatto also said that a number of strategies are in place to attract foreign tourists beyond 2010, which could boost Brazilian property sales.
"In addition to promotions offering cheaper package tours, we are concentrating on some more profitable niche markets," he stated, including golf tour packages.
Lisa Rudkin, a travel consultant at Sunvil Traveller, recently said that Brazilian property investors can open the door to "an undiscovered paradise".
