Brazilian property investors ’should keep a UK bank account’

People looking to invest in Brazilian property have been told that they should start online banking before they move abroad.

Keith Mackie, writing for the Journal, said that it is also advisable to keep a UK-based bank account running in case they want to come back home at any point.

"Most people move abroad because of work and intend on coming back to the UK in the future. In this case, your family home could be rented out to provide an income to cover mortgage repayments and necessary maintenance," he said.

Mr Mackie went on to say that if you're emigrating and want to buy a new home abroad, selling your house in the UK might be preferable, and he urged those looking at Brazilian property to give themselves as much time as possible to do this.

Thiago Davidian, a property sales adviser, speaking to BBC News, recently said that it is "great to be working with real estate in Brazil" as the sector continues to perform well.
