Brazilian property investors ’should register with the embassy’
People who are investing in Brazilian property should make sure they register with the British Embassy if they wish to receive help when there is an emergency.
A report written for Shelter Offshore said that while people are not legally obliged to do so, there are times when it does make sense to do so.
The website added that if people are moving to a foreign holiday home, including Brazilian property, then the British Embassy’s LOCATE service can get in touch with family members back in the UK if there is an emergency.
However, the guide stated that for some people who are looking to relocate to escape the intrusive nature of another country, they might not want to take this step.
Furthermore, the LOCATE service will be able to get in touch and offer advice if a major natural disaster were to happen while that person is overseas.
